A book can transform your life. You might know that I got the idea for the $10M Ansari XPRIZE after reading The Spirit of St. Louis by Charles Lindbergh, which I received as a gift from my dear friend, Gregg Maryniak.
Another dear friend, bestselling author and journalist Julian Guthrie, is releasing a new book that I hope will inspire the next generation of pioneers. Called "How to Make a Spaceship: A Band of Renegades, an Epic Race, and the Birth of Private Spaceflight," the book tells the XPRIZE backstory and all of the "renegades" who joined me in making the world's first privately made spaceship.
Richard Branson wrote the foreword, and Stephen Hawking provided the afterword. Julian is launching the book in true XPRIZE fashion — a $100K HeroX Challenge that will match each book sold with a hardcover copy for high school students in FIRST Robotics.
